Terms of Service

Last updated 21 July 2026

These terms set out the basis on which Stefania Wood ("Stef", "I", "me") provides companionship and wellbeing visits ("the service"). By booking a visit or completing onboarding, you (and, where applicable, the person arranging or paying for a visit on someone else's behalf) agree to these terms.

1. What this service is

I provide personal companionship, conversation, wellbeing check-ins, and light practical support to older adults in the greater Cape Town area. Visits may include things like a chat over tea, a walk, help with a small errand, or simply keeping someone company.

This is not a medical, nursing, or clinical service. I am not a nurse, doctor, or registered carer, and I do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, medication administration, or clinical care of any kind. If your loved one needs medical or nursing support, this service is a complement to that care, not a replacement for it.

2. Plans, visits, and bookings

Visits are offered as a single Once Off visit, or as a batch of visits included in the Essential, Regular, or Premium plan. The number of visits included in each plan is confirmed when you book. Visit days and times are always subject to my availability — booking a preferred day is a request, not a guarantee, until I confirm it.

3. Payment

Payment is made in advance of visits, by bank transfer. I'll send you my account details for your own country, so for most families it's an ordinary domestic transfer. I will ask you to send a receipt or confirmation once you've paid, so I can get the visits booked in. Prices are set in South African Rand; amounts shown in other currencies are approximate and for convenience only.

Once the visits included in a batch have been completed, a new payment is needed before further visits are booked.

4. Rescheduling and cancellations

Life happens — if a booked visit needs to move, please let me know as early as you can on WhatsApp and I will do my best to find another time. If you need to cancel a visit or pause the service altogether, please get in touch directly and we'll sort out what's fair. I don't currently have an automated refund process; any refund is handled individually, at my discretion, by direct arrangement.

5. Communication and updates

After each visit, I share a short update with whoever has asked to receive one — by WhatsApp or email, as you choose. Updates may include general observations about mood, wellbeing, and how the visit went, and photos where appropriate and welcomed.

6. Safety and conduct

I ask that visits take place in a reasonably safe environment. I reserve the right to shorten, decline, or end a visit if I have safety concerns, and to raise any concerns gently with the family afterwards. Any specific boundaries, sensitivities, or house rules you'd like me to be aware of are very welcome — the more I know, the better I can care for your loved one.

7. Liability

I take great care during every visit, but as this is not a medical or emergency service, please make sure your loved one has appropriate medical care, medical aid, and emergency arrangements in place independently of this service. To the extent permitted by law, my liability in connection with the service is limited to the fees you've paid for the visits in question.

8. Ending the arrangement

Either of us can end the arrangement at any time, for any reason, by letting the other know. Visits already paid for but not yet used will be discussed and settled fairly between us.

9. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time as the service evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

11. Contact

Questions about these terms are always welcome — reach me on WhatsApp at +27 71 584 9251 or send me a message using the enquiry form.
